Wisconsin head-on hit-and-run car accident leaves 2 injured

In the early morning of May 13, a 911 call was made regarding a head-on car collision in Wisconsin. Two vehicles were reported to be involved in the car accident, which took place in the Town of Leola. Two individuals in one of the involved vehicles were injured, while the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene.

The two individuals in the one vehicle that were injured were said to not have sustained life-threatening injuries; however, they were transported to St. Michaels in Stevens Point by air ambulance for evaluation and treatment.

The 35-year-old driver of the other vehicle that left the scene of the accident was later apprehended after a K9 unit and an aircraft were used to locate him. He was then taken to Adams County Jail and currently has charges pending, which could include fleeing the scene of a car accident. No information was provided as to whether or not he was injured from the crash.

The investigation of the car accident at the scene took several hours during which time State Highway 73 was closed to through traffic. Wisconsin State Patrol and the Adams County Sheriff's Office are currently still investigating the car accident. It is as yet uncertain as to which vehicle caused the crash as this information was not provided in an early news report. As the state and local authorities work to unravel the case and determine who did what and why, those involved would do well to document the accident, its aftermath and all expenses and medical treatments associated with the collision.
