Wisconsin car accident leads to multiple injuries

When out on the roads, drivers and passengers are aware that there are risks associated with vehicular travel. However, automobiles have become such an integral part of the American way of life that we often forget just how real and present those dangers can be. A recent car accident has reminded many Wisconsin residents of how quickly a normal, average drive can become something much more significant.

Upon early investigation, it appears that a 22-year-old man was driving a Honda Civic on Eighth Street in Beloit, Wisconsin near 4:50 a.m. on a recent Tuesday. He struck another vehicle, a Dodge Durango that was travelling westbound on Euclid Avenue. That vehicle contained a 40-year-old driver and his 6-year-old daughter. The driver suffered a broken clavicle in the crash, and the little girl sustained a broken leg.

The driver of the Civic was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. His 17-year-old passenger was airlifted to another medical facility for treatment, and was in serious condition as of the time of this report. Police believe that neither individual in the Civic was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Civic is now facing charges of causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Wisconsin police assert that additional charges may come as the investigation continues. For those who were harmed in this car accident, they are focused on getting through the immediate aftermath of their injuries. However, they will all have the right to sue for personal injury in connection with this crash, based upon allegations of negligence. Such an action can bring reimbursement to cover the victims' medical costs, continuing needs for physical therapy, property damage and other financial losses.
