Two men flee in deadly Wisconsin car accident

Car accidents can often prove to be a deadly occurrence. Wisconsin residents may have read about a recent car accident in which a young woman was killed and the driver as well as the passenger of the other car fled. A car accident such as this can be extremely hard on friends and family of the victim as they wait for justice to be served.

Two men were traveling in a rental car when they ran a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old woman. An autopsy later reveled she died from blunt force trauma. Both men fled the scene of the accident. The 23-year-old driver has since turned himself in and was arrested on outstanding warrants. The 17-year-old passenger had yet to be taken into custody at the time of an earlier report.

Reports indicate that there were three other victims injured as a result of the accident. Two of those injured parties were very young children. No details were given as to how they were injured. The driver as well as the passenger could both be facing civil as well as criminal charges as a result of their actions. Not only did the driver purportedly cause the death of another driver, both individuals fled an accident scene that resulted in a death and multiple injuries.

Any Wisconsin resident that has been the victim of a car accident knows the expense and pain and suffering that can result. It could be in a victim's best interest to have a strong understanding of the state laws regarding their particular situation. While accidents do happen, when negligence or abandonment is a factor, the victim or victim's family could be entitled to compensation for any medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and in this particular instance, burial expenses. Being proactive and acting quickly after the accident can prove to be beneficial.
