Wisconsin car accident leaves man dead in Merton

Now that spring is finally beginning to make an appearance, it will not be unusual for motorists to see increased numbers of deer along the roadways. Although Bambi may be an iconic cartoon, the reality of many encounters between deer and driver are not at all entertaining. Accidents between a deer and a car are notoriously dangerous. It is not uncommon for them to cause serious damage to the vehicle and motorists that were involved. Although it occurred after the dear had died, a recent Wisconsin car accident was no exception.

The fatal accident was part of a series of events that began when the vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Wisconsin man collided with a deer. The animal died in the crash. The man then got out of his car, presumably to remove the deer from the road.

While the man was attempting to move the dead deer so it did not present a hazard to other drivers, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The man was taken to a Wisconsin hospital for treatment. He later died there.

The portion of the highway on which the accident occurred was closed for several hours to allow the investigation to proceed. Police continue to look into both the accident that claimed the man's life and the one with the deer that ultimately started the fatal chain reaction of events. To date, no charges have been filed against the man who allegedly caused the fatality.

Most times, when a car accident results in a death, the survivors look at what happened and try to determine the events that led to it taking place. This accident is likely no different. As the family of the man who died struggle to come to terms with what happened, they retain the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the car that claimed the life of their loved one. A successful resolution in the form of a judgment to cover financial losses could help bring closure and allow them to move forward from the tragedy.
