Wisconsin car accident kills 1, injures 3

Across the country, states are working to improve their roadways, resulting in many construction sites. Such sites can create safety concerns and certainly require that drivers pay close attention to their surroundings as well as traffic safety signs, in order to prevent an accident or the injury of a construction worker. Wisconsin authorities claim that one man who was in a construction zone caused a car accident that injured several and killed one.

The accident occurred one night in late September. According to reports, a 62-year-old man driving through a construction zone failed to stop at a traffic sign. As a result, he allegedly entered an intersection where he struck a car driven by a 25-year-old woman.

A 25-year-old male passenger in the woman's car was transported to an area hospital where he ultimately died from the injuries he suffered in the accident. Both drivers and a 4-year-old passenger in the second vehicle received treatment at the hospital, but all are expected to survive. It is unclear at this time what, if any, charges authorities expect to file against the man accused of failing to stop at the stop sign; however, the accident is still being investigated.

Those injured, as well as the family of the deceased man, will likely have to deal with the financial ramifications of the fatal car accident. There will be medical bills, funeral expenses and the likelihood of lost wages, among other expenses. However, if it can be proved that the first driver's negligence caused the accident, the injured passengers in the second car as well as the family of the deceased man have the option of seeking financial relief in a Wisconsin civil court. By doing so, they can focus on their recovery, rather than the stresses caused by bills and other damages resulting from the accident.
