Driver in wrong-way car accident in Wisconsin arrested

Most parents are dedicated to protecting the safety of their children, including ensuring that they are properly restrained in their vehicle. While these measures can keep them safe in the event of a car accident, they cannot prevent an accident. Unfortunately, police are investigating a recent crash that sent a woman and her two children to the hospital.

Police say that the 28-year-old woman was traveling on a Wisconsin interstate with a 5-year-old and 8-year-old child. Unfortunately, their vehicle was allegedly struck head-on by a man who was driving the wrong way. According to reports, the 36-year-old driver of that vehicle could not remember where he had been prior to the accident but did report he had been drinking.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the collision. Police say that she was not breathing when rescue workers arrived at the scene but was revived. While the children, who were in booster seats, were injured, they are expected to survive. The alleged wrong-way driver faces criminal charges as a result of the accident.

Medical bills resulting from a car accident such as this can quickly become overwhelming. Additionally, many victims are unable to work as they recover, resulting in lost wages and further complications to their financial situation. Fortunately, there are legal options available to those in Wisconsin injured in such an accident that could result in a monetary award if it can be proved that injuries resulted from another's negligence. An experienced personal injury attorney can help victims better understand these options and take appropriate action.
